The Hypopressive Method was created in the 80’s by the doctor in Motricity Marcel Caufriez. The Belgian doctor was looking for exercises to improve the abdominal girdle and pelvic floor, but as he researched and worked on it he saw that it had many more advantages.

What is hypopressive gymnastics?

Hypopressive gymnastics is a type of exercise that consists of performing postures and movements that seek to reduce pressure in the thoracic, abdominal and pelvic cavities.

The main difference between hypopressive gymnastics and other disciplines that also work the abdomen is the state of apnea.

Apnea is a breathing technique that consists of opening the ribs when breathing, expelling all the air and maintaining the position (without air in the body) for a few seconds.
