Osteopathy represents one of the most effective forms of natural medicine, and is absolutely harmless and free of contraindications. It is suitable for patients of any age, but is especially suitable for children and infants.

Why is osteopathy recommended at such an early age?

The pushing the baby undergoes during passage through the birth canal tends to compress the baby between the mother’s pelvic bones.

Often, these “distortions” (as defined by osteopaths) do not resolve themselves and can influence the well-being of the newborn, making him/her more vulnerable to problems of different nature, which can affect other organs and structures.

Where do they usually occur?

Although these “distortions” occur especially at the level of the skull, they can create alterations in any part of the body.

The altered shape of the skull can produce asymmetries in the mouth, creating sucking disorders, this is very dangerous at such early ages, as it can lead to:

  • Tooth eruption
  • Modifications in the shape of the dental arches
  • Ingestion of large quantities of air

In addition, the sucking disorder together with an altered transit of food from the mouth to the intestine can cause:

  • Frequent and abundant regurgitations
  • Recurrent and prolonged colic
  • Diarrhea or constipation
